LCL & FCL Ocean Freight
Cost-Effective Shipping Solutions
We offer cost-effective LCL (Less than Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) ocean freight services, supporting shipments from China to Canada, China to the United States, Canada to China, and the United States to China. Our services cover major global ports and provide one-stop solution from container loading, export claim, ocean freight, import customs clearance, and final delivery.
As a Canadian and U.S. destination port agent, we assist with e-manifest/ISF electronic filing, import customs clearance, and final delivery. Our warehouses in China support customers with LCL consolidation, allowing them to enjoy the cost benefits of FCL shipments.
Cross Docking
Flexible Turnaround, Free Storage
Our warehouses located on both the east and west coasts of the United States and Canada support value-added services such as transshipment, consolidation, sorting, palletizing, and labeling. We also offer free storage for cross docking, for customers who need to pick up containers from ports in the U.S. and Canada and then ship products to different addresses—especially for FBA deliveries or local wholesale distributions. Combined with our container drayage and truck delivery services, we can complete container destuffing and handling-out within 24 hours.

US-Canada Cross-Border Express
Guaranteed Timeliness from US to Canada
Due to the unpredictable transit times of ocean freight to the inland cities of Canada, often affected by rail transport, B&J launched a dedicated cross-border logistics service from the US to Canada to meet customers' faster delivery requirements. This service uses expedited vessels to ship your containers to Los Angeles, USA. After destuffing and palletizing in a bonded warehouse, goods are carried by a bonded truck across the border to their Canadian destination. The overall transit time can be reduced to 20 days.
Given the high tariffs and unstable trade policies imposed by the U.S., customers face the pressure of paying substantial high duties when stocking large quantities in their U.S. warehouses. Our Canada-to-US cross-border express logistics service helps customers stock bulk goods in our Toronto warehouse. When replenishing to U.S. warehouses or fulfilling actual orders from U.S. customers, goods are shipped to U.S. destinations as needed. Once tariffs decrease, all goods can be transferred from Canada to the U.S. in one business day, avoiding unnecessary high duties.
When importing products from overseas to Canada, what hidden costs might there be besides the freight charges?
When importing products from overseas to Canada, in addition to the basic ocean freight, there are several hidden or easily overlooked costs that can significantly impact your total expenses. Here's an overview of common categories:
I. Port and Destination Charges (DTHC, Terminal Fees)
Destination Terminal Handling Charge (DTHC)
This fee is charged per container or per shipment and is collected by the port authority.
Deconsolidation Fee / Delivery Fee (for LCL shipments)
For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, after the container is deconsolidated at the CFS (Container Freight Station) warehouse, a deconsolidation handling fee and a delivery fee must be paid.
II. Customs Clearance and Related Charges
Canadian Customs Duty
Charged based on the HS code and the country of origin of the goods and the rate varies.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) – 5%
A 5% federal sales tax is applied to all commercial imports.
Customs Brokerage Fee
This is typically charged by the customs broker for handling the clearance process.
III. Additional Charges by Freight Forwarders
Document Fee
Typically ranges from USD $50 to $100 and is not included in the ocean freight charges.
Storage / Demurrage / Detention Fees
Charged on a daily basis if customs clearance or pickup is delayed; fees may apply to containers, terminals, or warehouses.
Last-Mile Delivery Fee
Cost of transporting goods from the port or CFS warehouse to your own facility or a third-party warehouse.
IV. Other Charges
Cargo Insurance
While not mandatory, it is highly recommended for shippers to purchase insurance to avoid high risks at a relatively low cost.
Customs Inspection Fees
If the shipment is selected for inspection or review by Canadian Customs or CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency), the cost must be borne by the importer.
